Osteopaths New Zealand describes that ‘Osteopathy is a form of manual medicine which recognises the important link between the structure of the body and the way it functions.

Osteopaths assist healing by focusing on how the skeleton, joints, muscles, nerves, circulation, connective tissue and internal organs function together as a holistic unit’.

A principle of osteopathy is that the body has an innate ability to heal itself given the chance. We treat in a manner that stimulates healing in your body such as by creating balance in the musculoskeletal system and easing restrictions in any of the body systems.

Osteopaths aim to find the cause of your pain and discomfort and enhance healthy function. Osteopaths are primary healthcare professionals and we work with and can refer (with your consent) to other registered practitioners, and imaging professionals.

Osteopaths are registered with the Osteopathic Council of New Zealand (OCNZ).
